Make a Gift Certificate Holder
Instead of leaving your gift card or voucher in a plain old envelope, or in your greeting card, why not make a personalized gift certificate holder?
What you need: Pretty paper, Gift card Envelope as template (came with gift card/certificate). Ribbon, Scissors and a Pencil.
Here are 5 simple steps to making your holder.
Step 1
Lay the wallpaper sample or scrapbook paper down on a smooth surface. Maybe consider visiting cristinare.com for beautiful paper. Open up the gift card envelope so that each flap is showing, and place it on the paper. Trace around the template carefully with the pencil.
Step 2
Cut out the envelope shape. Fold all the flaps in until they meet in the middle.
Step 3
Unfold the top and bottom flaps, overlapping the two middle sections, and glue them together. Bring the bottom flap in, and glue it on top of the two middle pieces. Allow the envelope to dry.
Step 4
Once dry, fold the top flap in. Using a handheld hole puncher, make coordinating holes in the middle of the envelope where it meets with the top flap. Then punch the top flap in the same spot. There should be two holes in each portion of the gift certificate holder. A piece of ribbon can serve as a fastener to keep the envelope closed.
Step 5
Place the gift certificate in the envelope and fold down the top flap for the final time. Thread a piece of ribbon through the two holes, and tie into a secure bow. Flip the holder over and add glitter, stickers or miniature photographs. Add the recipient’s name to the gift.
Now you not only have a great gift, but you also have a great looking package.
